An aspect of Miguel Millan’s campaign that particularly troubles us is his contention that “two people” in the district control the curriculum (April 24th on the radio show “The Divide.”)  This demonstrates a basic misunderstanding of how our district works.

In reality, there are regular curriculum review cycles in all content areas worked on by teams made up of a variety of teachers and administrators. Curriculum writing is done by exponentially more than “two people.”  To not recognize the input of hundreds of other individuals is unfair, and shows a concerning lack of understanding on how a school district operates.  That’s not an ideal characteristic of a school board member.
